Social Welfare Department Govt, of Manipur is one of the most important Department which deals directly the citizen of Manipur.

The District Social Welfare Officer Kangpokpi implementing the following schemes under the guidance of social Welfare Department, Govt of Manipur as given below:

  1. Manipur old Age Person Scheme (MOAPs)
  2. National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)

What is NSAP?

National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) is a social security/social welfare programme applicable to old aged, widows, disabled persons and bereaved families on death of primary bread winner, belonging to below poverty line household.

NSAP comprises five sub-schemes:

  1. Indira Gandhi National Old age Pension Scheme(IGNOAPS)
  2. Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Schemes(IGNWPS)
  3. Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme(IGNDPS)
  4. National Family Benefit Scheme(NFBS)
  5. Annapurna Scheme.

Others programmes conducted by the District Social Welfare Office Kangpokpi are:

  1. District Level Spot painting competition in connection with the observance of international day against the Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2019 was conducted on 20th June, 2019 at Elite Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi Town.

    The Winners of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd position holders at district level spot painting competition were participated to the State level “Wall painting” competition held on 23rd June 2019.

  2. Distribution of Annapurna food grains (Rice) started on 10th June 2019 in the presence of Hon’ble executive member, ADC Kangpokpi, Lunkhohen Haokip and Pu. Lunkhoseh Kipgen, Kangpokpi town Chairman.
