Prohibition of Tobacco Sales to Minors and Near Educational Institutions in Kangpokpi District

Now, therefore, the above provisions of law are reiterated for information of all the
tobacco products sellers and general public of Kangpokpi District. Any vendor found violating
the above provision of laW shall be punished under Section 24 of The cigarettes and other
tobacco products (prohibition of advertisement and regulation of trade and commerce,
production, supply and distribution) act, 2003. The vendor should ask for age proof i.e.,
Aadhaar Card, EPIC or any other identity proof containing date of birth of the young person
to determine the eligibility of the buyer to purchase cigarettes/ any other tobacco products
and his eligibility to sell the cigarette/ any other tobacco product to the buyer.
